Things To Do While Visiting St. Croix
There
are many fun St. Croix
tours to enjoy. Tour
the Cruzan Rum factory and learn about the process
of making this tasty drink and don’t forget the
samples at the end of the tour (of course you must
be at least 18 to drink!). A tour of the
Whim Plantation
is a great way to step back in time to see how sugar
cane was processed. Get of glimpse of what life
was like in the 1800s as you tour through the restored
great house and old slave quarters. If eco-tourism
is more to your liking, you can view beautiful St.
Croix flora and fauna at the
St. George Botanical Gardens while strolling
by interesting plantation ruins or take in a hike
through the
rainforest.
You can explore the island by car, following the
St. Croix Heritage Trail, a 72-mile driving
tour that connects our Caribbean island's historic
sites and attractions and includes many significant
natural areas.
A visit
to St. Croix’s Historic Harbor town of
Christiansted
is also a highlight. One of the finest, intact examples
of old Danish architecture, this town offers historical
sites, forts, great duty
free shopping, sumptuous restaurants, and more.
If you
feel like some activity is in order, how about our
land and water sports.
A day on one of our three golf
courses will challenge you while you take in
the breathtaking scenery. There are numerous
SCUBA diving companies
that will take you to the world class
dive sites
around St. Croix. Jet ski tours and sailing tours
are also a great way to spend the day. A sail to
Buck Island and its underwater snorkeling trail
on a catamaran is a must!
Sport fishing is another
exciting activity, as the Caribbean waters are full
of Mahi Mahi, Tuna, Wahoo and other delicious fish.
If relaxing
is more your speed (or should we say lack of speed),
you'll find numerous beautiful
beaches where you can
lay around, take in the sun and St. Croix's beauty.
Cane Bay Beach
is just one of the many locations on St. Croix that
offers awesome swimming, diving,
snorkeling,
kayaking and horseback
riding. You can also enjoy several waterfront
beach bars while visiting Cane Bay.
These
are just some of the fun activities on the island
of St. Croix. So take a tour, go to the rainforest,
jump in the water, or just lie around as you sip
on your favorite concoction. Whatever you do, you
will soon discover that one day on St. Croix is
just not enough . In fact, we won’t be surprised
if you decide soon after your visit that you’ll
just have to come back again to experience more
of the beautiful island of St Croix!
