Christmas Carnival /
Festival - The St. Croix Christmas Festival is a
tradition rich in culture that represents the people and
history of St. Croix. The celebration starts in mid December
with the Miss. St. Croix Pageant and ends with the Three
Kings Day Parade in early January.
There is also a food fair for a taste of local "Crucian",
food. A Crucian, pronounced like, crew shun, is a native

Christmas
Boat Parade - Boats decked out in Christmas lights sail
the Christiansted harbor for the annual St. Croix Christmas
Boat Parade. The town will be ablaze in Christmas lights,
and stores and restaurants will offer specials and stay open later than usual.
Entertainment will include steel-band orchestras, Mocko
Jumbie dancers and a great fireworks display. Organized by the
boating community of St. Croix, the event has been held for

Holiday Hope Benefit -
Each year in December this event is held at a different
St Croix hotel. The
benefit will support the Marine's Toys for Tots Foundation, The
Boys and Girls Club of Virgin Islands, CASA of the Virgin Islands and The Patrick Henry
Hospitality Scholarship. This year the event will be held
on December 1, 2011 at the Palms at Pelican Cove . (more info...) |

Jump Up -
Held about
four times during the year, Jump Up is a "carnival like" Caribbean cultural party
held in the streets and along the boardwalk of
Christiansted. It has become one of the islands favorite
social events for both locals and visitors alike.

Triathlon -
The St. Croix Half Ironman Triathlon is held at one of the most famous venues in
the sport. The race, which is held annually each May,
features the finest array of professional athletes in the
world, who challenge not only each other, but one of the

St. Croix Reef Jam
- Reef Jam is a grass-roots, non-profit organization with a mission to
"encourage marine conservation and stewardship through community education and
outreach." All proceeds from the annual musical fundraiser will be used to
support local marine education and conservation efforts on St. Croix. |

Annual Women Race (Frederiksted) The race is a 2 mile course throughout the town of Frederiksted. Traditionally, approximately 500 women join together to support our mission to end all forms of violence. Pre-registration begins in May at the Women’s Coalition office and at Closet to Closet. Sunset Jazz -
Sunset Jazz in Frederiksted, St. Croix is a community event
offered on the third Friday of each month. Admission is free
and families are welcome. Residents and visitors alike meet,
mingle and enjoy great jazz wafting over the waters of the
Frederiksted harbor, as well as the guarantee of a beautiful
sunset in this wonderful park setting. Hosting locally and
internationally acclaimed jazz artists, Sunset Jazz in
Frederiksted has received an enthusiastic reception, and has become a much anticipated monthly island event.

A Taste of St. Croix is a wine and food event that showcases
the diverse and delicious cuisine (and wines) available on
St. Croix. A Taste of St. Croix welcomes both island
visitors and island residents to participate in the event which is part of the
week long St. Croix. Food & Wine Experience. Guests can sample an amazing variety of
foods from over 50 local chefs
in a friendly competition using local fruits, vegetables and spices. Celebrity
chefs and notable special guests do the judging. This event benefits the
St. Croix Foundation, a non-profit

Annual Virgin Island BBQ competition - A group of barbeque enthusiasts committed to the education of similar minded people in the art of slow cooking, roasting or grilling. We founded the society for two reasons, first to bring together like minded people who like we love to eat especially if it is done over an open wood or charcoal burning pit/grill, and second to have a vehicle to raise funds for school organizations. Fair - Billed as "AGRIFEST," the Agriculture and
Food Fair of the US Virgin Islands is the largest
agricultural exposition in the territory. The Fair is

Coral Reef Swim - The
race begins on world-famous
Buck Island, which boasts a
spectacular beach and living coral reef designated as an
underwater park by the National Park Service, continues
across a starfish-speckled, blue channel and then along St.
Croix’s shoreline of colorful reefs and sandy bottom. The
Swim concludes at the main beach of The Buccaneer, where a
palm lined finish line and steel pan band greet swimmers

Whim Plantation twice each year,
this St. Croix event has been an annual event for over 20
years. It's a great way to spend a Sunday with the family.

Turtle Nesting - Join
volunteer groups that monitor the nesting and hatching of
Giant Leatherback and Hawksbill Turtles (April - October)
Leatherback turtles, the largest of all turtles and
endangered throughout the United States range (federal
register, June 2, 1970), have a nesting place in St. Croix.
A nesting area was discovered in 1977 on the western end of
St. Croix, USVI . Nesting can be found at the
Sandy Point National Wildlife Refuge (call them for
details, tours, etc). |

St. Patrick's Day Parade

The
ST. PATRICK'S DAY PARADE began in
1969 when a group of local businessmen
convened in HARRY'S OFFICE BAR on Queen
Cross St. in Christiansted for a "cool one". The
conversation got around to holidays and why St. Patrick's
Day wasn't celebrated in the Virgin Islands, when so many
other holidays were. Something had to be done! Within
minutes, the first St. Patrick's Day Parade was born. (more

Annual St. Croix
International Regatta -
For nearly two decades, this famous sailing event kicks off with the popular
Cruzan Rum Welcome Party on Friday night featuring music
performed by a live band. The yachting gets underway the
following day with a series of races. This event is

Mango Melee and Tropical
Fruit Festival - This popular summer event, held at the
St. George Village Botanical Gardens, helps develop a
greater appreciation for tropical fruits, especially
mangoes, how to grow them and their many uses. Mango Melee
offers educational workshops as well as fun activities for
children and helps raise funds for the programs the garden

First Fridays - Monthly event held in
Christiansted on the first Friday of many months throughout
the year. A kind of mini "Jump Up", the shops, boutiques, bars & restaurants stay open
late offering sales and live music on most corners. Come
join us this First Friday for a fun, safe evening supported
by the Virgin Islands Police Department and the
Christiansted Restaurant and Retail Association.
