When choosing a place to stay on the
island you should first decide your budget. St. Croix offers
everything from budget accommodations to luxury, high end villas
and resort hotels.
If you prefer to be pampered while
on vacation, a resort hotel or Inn may be just what you are
looking for. Resorts will offer comfortable rooms, pools,
spas and
restaurants. Most hotels are typically waterfront and offer
beach access with water sports facilities.
They can arrange for excursions like sailing, deep sea fishing,
scuba diving and more. Daily maid
service is usually offered and your room will be equipped with
modern conveniences such as cable/satellite TV, internet
connection, iron and ironing board, etc. Small Inns are usually
more quite than large hotels and offer the "at home" feeling.
If you are a large family, or
several couples you may want to consider a condo or villa
rental. A vacation rental villa or condominium can be a very
affordable alternative to a traditional resort and/or hotel
vacation, especially for groups and families. A typical luxury 3
bedroom villa, that will accommodate six guests or three
couples, will rent for about $3,000 for seven nights. That
breaks down to just $1,000 per couple for a seven night stay! A
stay in luxury resort can be twice that in the Caribbean! Villas
and Condos are usually situated in the same beautiful locations
as the finest resort hotels. Renting your own vacation villa or
condo provides you with several advantages: luxury, space and
privacy. They are usually less expensive than lodging in a
hotel/resort with comparable comforts, yet the entire property
is yours to enjoy. Of course, you may not get daily maid service
and you won't have an on-site restaurant or spa! |
