My wife and I first visited St.
Croix in October of 1998. We loved St. Croix so much
that we immediately began dreaming about starting a business on the island so that some day we might spend a whole lot more
time there enjoying a beautiful, warm and sunny St. Croix
beach....together!
Shortly after buying our first
property on St. Croix, in 1999, we saw the need for a quality St. Croix Tourist
Information website. The "official" tourism website that the U.S. Virgin
Islands Tourism Department had online at the time left a lot to be desired, so we
felt compelled to put a "real" website online...one that included a wealth
of St. Croix information. We first put our Villa Dawn website online in 1999 and
that
first St. Croix website began to grow which lead to the creation of
StCroixTourism.com.
For the first five years of it's
existence, all of the information included on StCroixTourism.com was put there entirely
free of charge. We wanted to put as
much information online as possible to promote the island we love so
much. As the years passed, the website grew larger and larger, until
it finally got to be too much work to do part time. What was once done
simply as a labor of love, had grown into a fulltime business! We realized we
could not continue do this unless we did it full time, but we needed some financial help.
The best way
to do that was to generate advertising income from our five St. Croix websites. Of
course, we
still include as much information as we can, in every category, entirely free of
charge. This makes us much different than the other major St. Croix
websites. If you look elsewhere for information about
say..."restaurants on St. Croix"...all you will find on the other St. Croix
websites are restaurants
that have paid for an ad on that website. We try to include most St. Croix
restaurants, paid ad or not. The same is true for many other areas of
St. Croix information. Now that we have the financial help we needed from our many St. Croix partners,
we can keep
our
websites growing and current.

At StCroixTourism.com, we devote all of our
resources to promoting St. Croix...and only St. Croix! This is not true of many other
"St. Croix" websites
that also work hard at promoting St. Thomas and St. John via their
"sister" websites. All of our energies and passion, and all your advertising
dollars go directly
to promoting St. Croix...and only St. Croix!
For now,
we are still part-time residents of St. Croix, however, StCroixTourism.com, along with our
family of websites, VillaDawn.com, CaribbeanDreamVilla.com, CaribbeanBreezeCondo.com
and CruzanVacationRentals.com all contribute
greatly to St. Croix's economy and its visibility as a
wonderful tourist
destination. Our
rental properties bring thousands of tourist dollars to
the island each year. All of our St Croix income, all the
USVI hotel
taxes we collect (as a result of our rental properties), along with
the vast majority of the business expenses we incur, go directly to St. Croix
and the U.S. Virgin Islands economy!

part so that we can spend a lot of time traveling! We have traveled all over the
world, and have found that what we love most are tropical destinations. Of all the
tropical places we have
been
together, St. Croix is the place that stole our hearts right from the start.
We love to swim, snorkel, SCUBA dive (St. Croix has some of the best
diving anywhere), sail, laugh with friends, eat, drink, shop...and
then eat and drink some
more...St. Croix is the perfect place for all of these activities and much more!
