Comments such a lovely place, made many friends, we lived there in 2000 for 4 months at Gentle Winds, now back in Oz. would love to visit again on day.
Comments My husband Richard, myself Jacqui and our 2 sons Jonathan and Michael had the happiest 10 years of our lives living in St Croix between 1994 and 2004. The people, the weather, the flora and fauna, the friends, the laughs, the soccer, the tennis, the sun, sea, sailing, the school CDS, even work! We have wonderful memories. We now live in New Zealand, but St. Croix will always be home too. And we are expat Brits, so you have to know STX is a VERY Special place. So go and enjoy which is what we will do again someday.

Comments Stayed recently at a great villa in Cane Bay (Villa Dawn). I have stayed there several times over the years and would advise anybody hitting the island for relaxation to check out this place! Walk down the driveway to "Off the Wall" and enjoy a Bushwacker...can't beat it. WJCIII
Comments Would love to find work in St. Croix. My talents are: Avid sailor and swimming pool maintenance. catchthewind01@aol.com
Comments I lived in St. Croix as a little boy 1964. My mom brother and I lived in Frederiksted. We had a house off Mahagony Road up on the hill where the blue house is now on the left. I think the location was called Anna Bow. Not sure about the name. The house overlooked Frederiksted pier and town. I was only 5 or six then. I went to St. Patricks school in F'Sted. My wife and I went to visit 4/19/08 for a week. I had not been back in some 40yrs since growing up their. The reconnection was not only exciting, but mind blowing for sure. The local people all very friendly still as I remember. St. Croix still like it was in many ways. We would love to move there to enjoy St.Croix again some day. We will be back for sure and hope to stay. We currently live in Flagler, Bch Florida. Currently working 27yrs a/c and refrigeration mechanic. Currently working for Gov in a facility. If you go to St. Croix slow down and take it in or just stay home. Just enjoy her people and the time you have. timcool58@hotmail.com

CommentsThe most romantic place ever..
CommentsI was looking all over the internet for a 2010 Jump Up schedule. Your website was the only one with up to date information! Great website...can't wait to visit the island...I need some warm!!!!!!!!!!!!!
CommentsWhat a gem! I have been to many islands in the Caribbean and have been disappointed how they have grown and become very commercialized. St. Croix was not like that at all. It is a sleepy and lazy place that is truly a great place to relax and enjoy the Caribbean the way it used to be! Tim - Chicago
CommentsSTX is a lovely place and this site illustrates that well. I've been there about 10 times and miss it now that the holiday seasons begins, the best time to visit. STX is small for the average traveler yet large for a Caribbean island. Much to offer. I love the west end to chill and observe the sunsets with the chance of a "green flash" as the sun "hits" the sea. It is not Paradise, as it requires caution, esp. when you have to drive on the "wrong" side of the road (left), while the steering wheel is on the outside of the road! My best regards to the Cruzians! Long live Buck Island and the Rainforest! Evan Atwater (the Netherlands)
CommentsBeen around Bahamas but still i like to see this Island, for its History so great! JD CA, US
CommentsWE have visited STX for several years and keep coming back. We'll arrive just in time for the 2010 Ironman Jumpup. I visit this website often before each visit and appreciate the way you keep it updated with the latest changes on island. Bassman in frosty CT
CommentsMy wife and I just got married at the Divi Resort on St Croix, Dec 6th. Our 10 days there just were not long enough! We had a great time and visited with some old school friends. " The Deep End" and "The Blue Moon" both had great food and service. We didn't make it to Buck Island this time, but snorkeling around the "Hotel on the Cay" was fantastic! Thanks to "Cruzan Rum", "Comanche Mill Yacht-less Club", "Divi Hotel", "Stitches", Alex at "Computer Solutions", and Judy at "The Traveller's Tree". We will be back soon!
CommentsWas in St. Croix for vacation between Christmas and New Years 2009 and was fortunate enough to arrive the day of the annual jump up festival. Wha an amazing exprience. Was invited onboard the Kindred Spirit charter where we watched the festivities from the sailboat which was tied off the boardwalk. Thanks Capt. Dan Barron and the Kindred Spirit for an amazing vacation. Thanks for the Heinekin too!!!
CommentsStCroixTourism.com is a great website, it has given me great insight. I am coming in June to reside permanently and without a pre-trip. I must say this website played a major part in my feeling comfortable enough to make this decision. Give Thanks and Blessed Love, Natural
CommentsSt.Croix I love the island, sunshine, people.
CommentsOff The Wall has come a long way. I remember the guy that lived in the up side down dumpster on the side property of Off The Wall. Not a bad gig waking up in the morning and opening the steel doors facing the ocean to let the beautiful Cane Bay breeze and air blow in. And the rent price was perfect.
Commentsi'm originally from st.croix. i now reside in maryland. i grew up in the golden rock area and remember walking to the beach near the condos. now i plan on visiting for a week and staying at one of the condos. i want to wake up and see the pretty blue island water and at night watch the moon light shinning above the sea before i go to sleep. can't wait!
CommentsI am really hoping to get my son's (W.G. Jr.) savings bond that he won in the December 2008 competition. It is long overdue.
CommentsResearching the area....would like to find the old catholic cemetery. My family lived there prior to 1850 and worked on Two Friends Planation. Last name Heatly. If anyone has any information on this area, please email me at peacockpeacockpeacock@hotmail.com Thank you.
CommentsHey! Great website! I can't wait to visit your beautiful island. All the photos make me want to be there right now!
CommentsWhat a breath of fresh air! It's not easy to find an island in the Caribbean that has not be overrun by tourism and over developed. What a beautiful and friendly place! Can't wai to come back. Stephanie P.
CommentsSee you all at Jump Up in July!!!!!!!
CommentsI am from Texas, met my wife on the Baylor University Campus, Waco, Tx. in 1989, and we got married in St. Croix in 1997, love everything about the Island. Although my wifes family is from St. Lucia, my mother-in-law resides there and is now retired after 30 somthing years of service in Education. She is a great Master Educator. CommentsI LIVED IN ST. CROIX FOR 20 YEARS IT'S NICE TO KEEP UP WITH WHAT'S GOING ON AND PLAN TO VISIT SOON
CommentsIT WAS NICE TO VISIT ST CROIX IN DECEMBER CAN'T WAIT TO COME BACK AGAIN
CommentsWe have been all over the Caribbean on vacation. It was really nice to find an island that has not been ruined by commercial tourism. St. Croix is just a regular place...not Disney World in the Caribbean. It's a beautiful island and we found the people to be very friendly, except, unfortunately, some of the people who have moved there from the states. Overall, one of the best vacation spots in the Caribbean! PS - really like the website!
CommentsGoing to St Croix for a wedding in September 2011. looking over your website I can't wait to visit.

CommentsLots of USVI news at http:/www.twitter.com/usvinews
CommentsCant wait to come back to St. Croix. The people local folks in St. Croix are the best. Very friendly always. I was brought up in Frederickstead when I was 4-10yrs old. Remember it exactly the way it was. I attended St.Patricks school. We lived off mahogany road up on the old Anna Lisa Bow property. If that is spelled right. The Hurds where almost like family in those days. Would like to reconnect. There is a blue house up now where are house was. My wife and I came to St.Croix in 2007. Did not want to leave. Been 40yrs since I had been back. Just a wonderful time. We will be returning in Nov. for jump up. Just cant wait. Would love to return one day to live on St. Croix. Its always the survival thing anywhere you go. Currently work for FAA/Embry Riddle in Palm Coast Florida. Currently take care of all the refrigeration and airconditioning in the facility at this time. Hopefully something will open up once again that we can relocate one day. Slower pace is nice when you are on island. Island time is the best! St.Croix and her people are jewels of the carribbean for sure.
CommentsMissing you badly St. Croix !!!
CommentsI've been living on and off St. Croix for the last two years while researching for a book I wrote about the island. My fascination with the island began in Salt River Bay with a mysterious monastic ruin that over-looked the bay. Sadly, those ruins are no longer able to inspire and mystify anyone, as they were recently leveled in 2010. Many posters in here mentioned how St. Croix has remained untouched - in fact, virtually the same as when they left decades ago. Oddly, my book, "The St. Croix Ark" mentions the very same feeling in the first sentence of my book. It is the place where time has stood still, nothing changes there. However, it's refreshing when a world totally based on hyper-change still has a tiny nook that keeps a pace of its own (if you've been there you know what I mean). Although, looking back, it was probably the best place in the world to write a book. If you want to really learn about St. Croix's interesting history just Google "The St. Croix Ark" I'm sure this book will make your next trip to St. Croix one you will not forget, ever. Best Regards, JP Noel http://www.thestcroixark.com
CommentsI LOVE ST. CROIX as a child I always wanted to go there but I did not have a reason besides that I knew it was a beautiful island. Today I can say my roots are from there. St. Croix is the best. Most of my family lives there which is very big. I will be coming back every year to come home. Come let we go!!!!!!!!!
CommentsLooking for Tom Rodenhaver, friend of Tim Ward, PA. I work with Tim's wife, Paula. My husband and I will be arriving in St Croix tomorrow, For a weeks stay @ the Buccaneer. This is our 2nd trip to the island. Tim said to be sure and look you up. DEb Johnson Craig Smith
Commentswebsite looks great...St Croix is my dream destination and can't wait to visit
CommentsThe website is a great source of info., plus. We're looking forward to "coming home" on St. Croix later this year; have been vacationing there since 1973. Just one comment; we enjoy the web-cam images, but the Rainbow Beach one seems "stuck," and the "Pickled Greek" seems lost in time. Thanks for the great resource. Bob and Joanna
CommentsHad a good day on our cruise stop- rented a Sun Bug (Solar Car) and visited the beer drinking pigs
Commentshow come the beaches are always empty and in the pictures of town the streets are always empty Editor's note: St Croix's beaches are rarely crowded unless there is a special event taking place, such as Mardi Croix in Cane Bay or Reef Jam at Rainbow Beach, or when there is a cruise ship in port. Unlike other Caribbean destinations, such as St. Thomas, St. Martin or Jamaica, which can have up to 4-6 ships in port each day, St. Croix will only have 2-3 cruise ships in port each week during peak season. In the off season, mid-April thru October, we won't have any cruise ships at all. When we do have a ship in port, the beaches are still hardly what I would call crowded. We also don't have huge resort hotels with 10 or more floors! St Croix has not been ruined by commercial tourism and we hope that it will stay that way. While we always welcome more tourism to the island, we also want to keep the island the unspoiled paradise that it is now!
CommentsGreat website! Lot's of great info and pictures and it is easy to figure out. Would love to visit your beautiful island!
CommentsGreat information for our upcoming visit.
CommentsHeading to STX for a month stay in July. This will be our second trip. We fell in love with STX last year. Looking for a Caribbean home to raise our youngest son...this could be the place. Can't wait to see this beautiful island again :)
Commentswill be first time on island....looking forward to it.....golfing, shopping, getting gifts. flying there instead of a few hours on cruise....spending 6 days there
Commentsin 1976 i worked with the us,dept of agriculture,,we shared the office with the virgin island dept of agriculture,,,they where the most knowledgable people i ever met in regards to plants on st croix,,,an entire history of itself,,after leaving,,lived in europe,,and now florida,,,,never yet to see beauty equal to this island,,and its freindly inhabitants,,,
CommentsSt. Croix is truly a beautiful Island. I travel here each year for many and we just love the culture the people, beaches. I prefer to stay in Frederiksted while vacationing in St. Croix because of the people and comfort level of freedom that is shared with you!
CommentsI love this statement: While we always welcome more tourism to the island, we also want to keep the island the unspoiled paradise that it is now! As i also travel to St. Thomas, St. Martin these are always pedestrian congestive!
CommentsI have been checking out this site since October 2012 and have found it very helpful and many questions answered by checking through it thoroughly and when I needed to ask a question I received a prompt reply within hours...I am vacationing in March and can't wait.
CommentsReally like your website! As a local here on St. Croix, I use it all the time for more than just touristy things to do. Thanks for putting all this information in one place!
